Harris County Pets Service Project

As part of our #OneFutureInitiative, we dedicate 2.5% of our time to service projects in our community. On April 12, 2023, our attorneys, Shannon Montgomery and Anjie Vichayanonda, volunteered at the Harris County Pets animal shelter to help care for dogs currently housed there. The shelter currently has over 300 dogs available for adoption.

Harris County Pets is an open-intake municipal animal shelter that takes in approximately 10,000-18,000 animals per year. The shelter provides spay and neuter surgeries, a microchip, age appropriate vaccinations, and a one-year Harris County pet license to all adopted animals. Adoption hours are: Monday - Friday: 1:00 pm - 5:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 am - 3:30 pm. Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis. Animals that are spayed or neutered can leave the shelter that same day. Animals that still need to be spayed or neutered must stay until surgery can be completed.
